Welcome to East West Living

The best place to “Be Inspired” in New York City

Welcome and blessings to all! For over 30 years, East West Books was New York’s largest source for spiritual, holistic health and metaphysical books and supplies. We revised our name to East West Living to reflect our emphasis on a balanced lifestyle of body, mind and spirit awareness. We doubled the book and merchandise sections, and added a vegetarian café on a mezzanine area that provides space for inspiring events. We think you’ll find a spirit at East West which is luminous, calm and open – and a true haven in chaotic Manhattan.

For your mind, you’ll find over 30,000 books in sections from Buddhism to Shamanism to Holistic Health to Therapeutic Touch to Yoga and many more; for your energetic aura, an amazing crystal department with everything from Amethyst to Zoisite; for your spiritual practice, meditation and yoga accessories such as pillows and props; for your senses, hard to find CDs and DVDs and crystal bowls for sound healing; and for your health, holistic and homeopathic therapies along with the best collection of essential oils around. And there are hundreds of things you might not even know existed – such as pendulums, wands and our best selling pamphlets on Dowsing. (The author and Dowsing expert Anne Williams visits the store often.) We have an amazing assortment of Tarot decks such as Rider, Llewellyn and an entire line of Tarot and merchandise from Amy Zerner and Monte Farber. We have recently added monthly trunk shows to feature items of special interest. You'll find something new every day!

Our café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from 10am-8 pm. Choose from vegetarian and vegan selections of soups, sandwiches, salads and hot dishes. We offer weekly specials as well as take out and special orders during the holidays. We also serve a delicious assortment of bakery items and made to order coffee and tea drinks including our signature Crystal Iced Tea. We also offer a large selection of hot herbal teas by . A delicious brunch menu is served on Saturdays and Sundays. The café offers free wi-fi and an atmosphere enhanced by the works from our Exhibiting artist series.

And if all of this has not kept you browsing and buying your favorite items, we offer book signings, special events, workshops, meet-up groups. Try an Angel reading from Heather Vaughn, a session with one our many intuitive readers, or a session with one of our healing practioners. (By appointment only.) ***ADD LINK WITH DISCLAIMER. We also sponsor an Exhibiting Artists Series which features local and global artists and their work.

We look forward to welcoming you to East West Living.

East West Living is gearing up for the holidays with inspirational gifts, spiritual jewelry, intuitive readings, and lots of booksignings and workshops! This week we welcome Jay Michaelson, Kenneth Folk and Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD to discuss All is One/All is God: Nonduality in East and West(12/9). Follow this with two amazing booksignings: Author of Mozart's Ghost, Julia Cameron(12/10) and Illustrator of Mutts, Patrick McDonnell who will present his book with Eckhart Tolle, Guardians of Being (12/11).
And while you are here for these amazing events, take a look at our spiritually inspired jewelry from our own Amy Angeles--amazing Tree of Life wrapped crystals and other designs, Goddess and Tarot inspired jewelry and jackets from Amy Zerner( we carry an entire line of Tarot and kits from Amy and her husband Monte Farber)and Reiki infused key chains by Esikia.
There is so much more! Have breakfast, lunch or dinner in our mezzanine cafe and try our tradition from Mumbai: the Bombay Sandwich.Take a look at our website at www.eastwestnyc.com. Be inspired and be supported by the East West community! I look forward to seeing you there! And many thanks to Visit NY Guide and David for all the info you provide to help us find the calm in the chaos of the city we love!!!(Even if that calm includes shopping!)
